What is the Community
Heroes project?
The purpose of this program is to give youth the opportunity to give back to their community by creating community service projects of their own. Their projects can be designed for park clean-ups, organizing events of their own, gifting care packages to those in need, and many other ideas related to servicing their community.

Our Past Projects below!
Cerebral Palsy Awareness
Zeba completed her project by organizing an educational event focused on cerebral palsy. The event was a great success, providing her a platform to educate others about cerebral palsy and debunk common myths. We were also honored to have the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy (OFCP) deliver an insightful speech, further enriching the experience for attendees.
Supporting Local Food Banks
SMILE Community Hero Arqum, with the support of friends and family, successfully assembled over 150 snack bags to distribute to his local food bank. This initiative provided essential support to those in need within his community
Giving Back to Firefighters
Zafeer completed his project by baking treats for firefighters and personally delivering them to the Peel Region fire station. The firefighters were extremely welcoming and grateful for his thoughtful gesture. This experience boosted Zafeer's confidence, and he is excited to continue taking on more community-focused projects in the future.
Woodworking Workshop for Youth with Special Needs
Dana's community hero project focused on empowering youth with special needs by organizing a life skills woodworking workshop. This hands-on experience helped participants develop valuable skills while fostering creativity and confidence. Dana’s initiative made a meaningful impact, providing an inclusive space for learning and growth.
